WTA Co-Presidents

Christy Nickerson and Belinda McConnell

  • The President shall preside at all meetings of the Executive Committee, the Executive Board and the General Membership meetings of the WTA.
  • They shall be the executive officer of the Association.
  • They shall appoint the chairperson and members of Standing Committees and Special Committees.
  • They shall perform all other duties usually attributed to the office of President.
  • They shall be the Chairperson of the Negotiating team.

WTA 1st Vice President-Grievance Chair

James Byington

  • The First Vice-President shall perform the duties of the President in his or her absence or at his request.
  • The First Vice-President shall oversee grievances in accordance with the WTA contract and will communicate and confer with the President regarding the resolution of all grievances.
  • In the event of a vacancy in the office of President, the First Vice-President shall assume the position of President.

WTA 2nd Co-Vice Presidents

Donna Malloy and Paul McElheney

  • The Second Vice-President shall preside in the absence of the President and the First Vice-President.
  • The Second Vice-President shall be responsible for coordinating all social events.

WTA Secretary

Eric Scarborough

  • The Recording Secretary shall keep a full and accurate record of all meetings of the Executive Committee, the Executive Board and the General Association Meetings.
  • The Recording Secretary shall keep a full and accurate list of the membership and shall assist the Treasurer in maintaining records.
  • The Recording Secretary shall have at hand at all meetings a copy of the By-laws and a copy of the Parliamentary Authority accepted by the Association.
  • The Recording Secretary shall carry on all correspondence conducted by the Association when possible.
  • The Recording Secretary shall maintain an up-to-date membership list of retired teachers and shall be responsible for all correspondence with retired teachers.
  • The Recording Secretary shall represent the WTA at MTA/NEA functions at the request of the President.

WTA Treasurer

Linda McElheney

  • The Treasurer shall hold the funds of the Association and disperse them in accordance with budgeted authorization.
  • The Treasurer shall collect dues through the Executive Board members and transmit amounts due the MTA and NEA.
  • The Treasurer shall maintain a roll of the members.
  • The Treasurer shall keep account of receipts and disbursements and shall report to each meeting of the general membership.
  • All disbursements over $100 shall be counter-signed by the President of the Association.
  • The Treasurer shall prepare an annual financial statement for publication to members as directed by the Executive Committee.
  • The Treasurer shall keep the President, the Executive Committee and the Executive Board informed of the financial condition of the Association and shall assist the Executive Committee in drafting the annual budget.
  • The Treasurer shall be bonded by the Association.
  • The Treasurer shall be a member of the Scholarship Committee and shall be responsible for the management of the Scholarship Fund.

WTA Immediate Past President

Barbara Locke

  • They shall serve as an advisor to the President.
  • They shall serve as a member of the Executive Committee.

WTA Paraprofessional Liaison

  • They shall serve as an advisor to all paraprofessionals.
